New Reaper Did “Ok” in Last Weeks Nielsen
The new Reaper episode, last week, was funny. I liked it. How did it do in the ratings? Pretty average. Which isn’t bad, considering that it’s up against Lost. The numbers were 2.8 million viewers, 1.2% homes, 3% current viewers. In comparison, Smallville had 3.8 million viewers, 1.6 % homes, and 5% current viewers.
The previous week, Reaper was the number three CW scripted show, after One Tree Hill and Smallville. Its last week of repeats did better than Gossip Girl, Everybody Hates Chris, and Aliens in America.
Considering that March 6, Reaper had 1.6 million viewers and 1.1% of households, compared to Gossip Girl, with 1.4 million viewers and 1.1% of households, perhaps the network shouldn’t have held off so long in announcing its return, next autumn.
So, keep telling your friends to watch Reaper, especially if they have a funny box on top of their televisions.
What do you think? Should The CW have given the green light to Reaper already? Put your thoughts in a comment.
